I believe it was 1992 when I visited San Antonio. This bike was in a bike shop in Alamo Heights, near the Witte Museum. Has to be the same bike as the odds of there being two of them in the same city are highly unlikely. It is in fact silver plated and not chromed. The silver was black tarnished when I saw it. The group was a complete 50th anniversary group that had seen some wear, as I recall, more than just what you would expect from taking a show bike out a few times--had a lot of grease and grime on the parts. The bike shop was asking $2500 for the bike then. I had also been offered a NOS 50th anniversary Paramount with new, but built 50th group for $2200 at another shop.
The other shop was also offering NIB 50th paramounts, complete with the gold fork and velvet bag, for $800. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
