Subject: [CR]rattle can clear coat questions

I'm building up a "townie" fixed gear out of a late 60's low-end Bianchi I rescued from a trash heap. I stripped the frame to bare metal and rattle can painted it a nice sky blue. I have some water slide down-tube decals for it, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with a rattle can clear coat I could use over the decals. I've been warned not use a "cellulose" or "acrylic" top coat. Any suggestions would be helpful.
