Incidentally, I've never been quite comfortable with the 1977 date of #17a. Maybe more like 1978? The new stuff listed in it showed up in the US in 1979 based on Bikecology's catalog.("new for '79" says the '79 Bikecology catalog). The chain holder was shown at the end of the year '77 Milan show.

Can anyone help???

Speaking of Catalog 17a, I just noticed something funny today. For the Super Record road pedals, it shows the same bearing races and cones as all other Record pedals?? In #17, that was not the case. There were 4000 series numbers for those parts, in addition to the Ti spindles.... Was this a boo-boo, or what?
