Note how the derailleur hanger doesn't hang straight down in the plane of the dropout, it is offset to the right by a centimeter or more. Any chance your brazed-on, then hacked-off hanger looked like that?

Not sure what year that dropout was made, but I've been told early 50s. Sorry, it's not for sale.
