Doug, Anthony's first try was from scratch and he didn't like the way it came out. He then found a source in the UK for what he thought would be the same or similar crown. When it finally arrived it was a "standard" twin plate crown made from separate flate plates - nothing like the cast original. He decided to give it another go from scratch and this is the result. It's hard to tell from photos but the lower plate is a compound curve, in that it curves front to back and side to side. Anthony worked his lower plate until he basically matched the original.
