i'm not sure about the rest of the frames in the timeline, but i'm pretty sure the arabesque was an '84 model. the arabesque was in fact the colnago 35th anniversary celebratory model, and there is a complementary 35th anniversary nr/sr gruppo which goes very nicely with the arabesque frame - apart from panto'ing, many of the components have an embedded gold plated club, which matches the one on the frame's seatstay caps. this gruppo is even more difficult to find than the frame. i had a complete 54 c-c, aniversary gruppo and all, in mint condition, but it was just too small, so i never rode it and sold it for $2,500 back in 1993-4. that was a good price back then.

good luck finding the one you are after - if you find one in 56 or 57 c-c, in light blue metallic finish, let me know...that's the one that got away.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Arabesque --> Master Piu --> Master Olympic --> Master Light -->

\r?\n> Master

\r?\n> X-Light

\r?\n>

\r?\n> It seems to me, they are all related and are progressions due to the

\r?\n> I rode an Arabesque for almost 20 years. It's now in the possession

\r?\n> of

\r?\n> "Torpado" Mark in Dee-troit. You can see his work in progress here :

\r?\n> http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Colnago_1982_Arabesque_Black-Red

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I think the frame angles are typical Colnago but the rear end is very

\r?\n> tight (no chainstay bridge) and the wheel base in very short. Many

\r?\n> people find these bike "twitchy" which I suppose they are - at low

\r?\n> speed. But when ridden up to speed it's devine. High speed decents

\r?\n> are

\r?\n> like riding on rails.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Good luck in finding one.
