I built up two wheels the same in everything except the flanges and yes I could feel it. Now I think it felt about the same as a few lbs. in air presser but yes I could feel it. Was reminded by the recently posted reviews on Bulgier's site that in the 70s conventional wisdom said that small flange hubs would noticeably soften the ride compared to large flange, other things being equal. I didn't notice much difference back then but most large flange wheels I had were 4-cross.

What do you think? Comparing 3-cross large flange vs. small flange.
