Subject: [CR]Sabiliere bikes

I recently acquired an early seventies Sabiliere lugless frame. There are no tubing decals on it.

I noticed that the seattube and downtube, where they join into the bottom bracket, change shape. Both tubes become squeezed as if into an elongated oval.

I am wondering if others have encountered tubing from this era that conforms to this patterm, or if this was something unique to Sabiliere or to French bikes in particular.

And even though orange is one of my favorite colors for bikes, the orange on this one has made me reconsider that generalization.

Thank you.

Cheers. (Now back to fixing my lawn mower.)
