Regarding the 81 Boston-Mavic team. There were some well known riders in this team. Roger De Cnijf 79 Tour of Spain stage winner, Alain Meslet 1976 GP du Midi Libre and 77 Tour de France stage winner, Jan Nevers who was only a promising youngster then but who later had a Tour de France and tour of Switzerland stage win. Think I am right in saying that only three Bostons failed to finish this tour: Marc Goosens, Jan Nevens and Benny Vermulen. Wasn't the Boston outfit the first to be equipped with Mavic in the peleton? Mick Butler Hunts UK.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
