No I think you missed my point Steve... the point being that the bike needed a complete overhaul including the wheels. That's why the bike felt like it was getting soft, because everything was getting a tiny bit sloppy and needed to be brought back to spec.
The frame wasn't going soft, the entire bike was going out of its original design specification.
