The 2nd annual North American Handmade Bicycle Show, which is scheduled for

March 3rd – 5th, 2006 in San Jose, California, has added a cocktai l reception for Friday evening. This is a chance for show goers to mingle wit h exhibitors in a social atmosphere and possibly discuss business over a cock tail. The show is picking up steam largely from its impressive list of bicycle framebuilders that have already signed up for this one of a kind gathering.
That’ s not all that is keeping this show and its momentum moving forward. Articles in such publications as Velonews, Bicycle Retailer, Roadie Interna tional, Vintage Bicycle Quarterly and bicycletest.com have made this show a †œmust see”
for spectators and exhibitors alike. This buzz was influential in True Temper/Alpha Q signing on as the shows first sponsor. The 2006 show will be almost 4 times as large as the first show in part to show organizer Don Walker’s dedication to make this the best consum er related bicycle show on earth. “This event is taking off so quickly, I expect all 100 booths to be
sold out before Interbike which is still almost 6 months before our show dates. The list of builders who have signed up reads like a “who’s who ” in bicycle framebuilding.” The show also has a different approach in that Walker has hired recognized action photographer Farid A. Abraham to document this show and do promotion al shots of exhibitor’s bicycles and frames. This way, the builders ca n use these shots for publication. Walker opted to not allow the general public ’s cameras in the show as a way of maintaining a level of excellence and a pos itive reflection of the craft and purposefulness of the show. The list of confirmed exhibitors is as follows: Rich Adams, Ahrens Bicycles/Mike Ahrens, Brian Baylis, Badger Cycles, Calfe e Design/Craig Calfee, Matt Chester, Columbine Cycles/John Murphy, Nick Crumpton, Roland Della Santa, DeKerf Cycle Innovation, Mike DeSalvo, Indepe ndent Fabrication, Jonny Cycles/Jon Kendziera, Patrick Cycles/Greg Gardner, Bill Rider, Richard Sachs, Rock Lobster/Paul Sadoff, Charles Schlessinger, Soulc raft, Spectrum Cycles/Tom Kellogg, Brent Steelman, Strawberry/Andy Newlands, Bob Summersett, Jamie Swan, Sycip Design, Paul Taylor, Thursday Bicycles, True Temper/Alpha Q, Don Walker Cycles, Vanilla Cycles/Sacha White, Zipp Speed Weaponry.
