Subject: [CR]Fixed and clinchers

Ahh, just got back from a ride in North Lincolnshire, traffic free and underpopulated (by UK standards). My choice of steed was a 1952 Hobbs with a 69/75 double sided fixed. (Or as recent posts have called them 'flip flop'). The clinchers were fine as I can't be bothered with this tubular tyre stuff, whatever religious experiences you guys in the States have with them. Life is too short to mess with glue and I plain don't believe the perceived difference in ride comfort. Fixed is so 'souplesse' as the French say and, in my humble opinion, what it is all about. OK I would not ride fixed in Colorado, where I have lived for 3 years, so I guess all that we can say is bikes are so flexible they can suit a mile high rider and a guy in the Nile delta. We just have to respect our differences, don't we?
