To remove a cog or freewheel from a naked hub, lace it to an old rim. If you can't get at least some spokes through the drive side flange, you can only lace the one flange. Obviously you don't have to get the rim very true.

Good practice if you don't know how to build wheels (another KOF worthy discussion since I am amazed by how may yunguns are in awe that wheels can be built "by hand!" They think it's done by big machines <sigh>.

That's how I have done it for years for customers who thought they were helping me out by hacking all the spokes from their damaged wheel and handing me a hub with the freewheel still on! Ciao Riccardo Bulissimo definately not NOS, closer to POS than KOF
