Kendra, Here are a couple of comments about Steve's suggestions. - There are a several ways to find things at Sheldon Brown's Web site. One is to go directly to his Glossary. Another is to use his Search facility, taking the "Search sheldonbrown.com" button. Another is to simply wander through the articles and Bicycle-Links pages. - Don't forget that you can search the archives of this mailing list. Go to http://www.bikelist.org for details. You can also serch the archives of other lists in which similar topics are sometimes discussed; e.g. the iBOB and Frame-builders' lists. Bear in mind that sometimes, rather than finding clarification, you will find you yourself deep in the middle of philosophical discussions. But what else can you expect from mailing lists populated by human beings? Good luck, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
