Heyo --

No qualms about this outing -- except the lack of pictures. As usual, no connection with seller whatsoever. This is from the SF Bay Craigslist, so first come first served probably rules:

"59cm Bruce Gordon track bike, Campy groupo. Rare and great condition! - $1100 (lower haight) Reply to: anon-91050900@craigslist.org Date: 2005-08-14, 4:48PM PDT

Okay, this is a collectors item that I would actually like to hang onto, but I could also use the cash. Bruce Gordon is known for his custom touring frames, and this is one of a limited number of track bikes he made in the mid-eighties. Needless to say, the Gordon bikes are built to last.

This bike is in great condition. There are a few scratches from moving it around, but it is still a beauty. I have ridden it solely on the track, and that was only a few times. For the most part it's been a trophy bike. The bike is fast and it has great accelleration. It may not be carbon fiber, but it is definitely quick. If you like to ride the track, it's ready to go. If you want it to ride around town, it's an awful lot to spend to look cool. It'd be a shame to see it get beat up by city streets, but who am I to judge?

Stats:

59cm frame, blue with elegant lugging. Columbus tubing. Light for its age.

The parts are anodized(sp? all black) Campy

Steel track drop bars.

Fir wheelset.

Black Salsa stem.

Even the chain is black! Unfortunately the chain ring is not, but hey...

The seat is Concor light.

You have to see it to really appreciate it. If you want to ride it, bring pedals, or look road cleats. I will ride with you, and if you think of skidding my bike before you buy it, I just might have to punch you. There is no brake, so you won't be able to really get it up to sprinting speed.

It's a great bike that I would love to hang onto, and I just might anyway, so don't bother trying to haggle.

Call my cell 917-939-0166 to set up a time to see it. My name is Ben. Thank you."

Dan again: My size. Oh, for a spare grand when I need it.... but if a Lister does pick this up, give me a call and let me sneak in a ride, will ya? Thanks!
