That Colnago has changed my thinking (but only a little) about owning and not riding nice bikes ... a pristine show bike of that vintage is worth keeping pristine.
I'm caught in a different sort of bind ... as my favorite bike ages and shows its age, what do I do?
I'm the original owner of the first frame David Brink of Berkeley built under his own name, in1982. It has the original finish and most of the original parts (on-topic and top-shelf), but also something like 20,000 miles on it. So, do I keep riding it until it is dead, pay a lot to restore it (at which time it will not be original), or do I hang it on the wall and ride something else? My wife doesn't see its beauty, so as a wall-hanging, it will go in the basement, mostly out of sight.
