Subject: [CR]List Etiquette

This pops-up every once and a while and I'm not sure what to do. On this list specifically, if I ask a question or request info, I may get one or more replies from you knowledgeable and helpful listmembers. Is it considered proper etiquette to thank each and every respondent with a reply email? Some (many?) of us may receive many emails a day and a thank-you may be considered superfluous and time-consuming. Also, I can see it getting ridiculous with "thank you" and "your most welcome", blah, blah, blah. Obviously, if someone takes the time to write you a 3-page history of wingnuts, I would certainly reply with a thank you. But if 10 people say the answer is 3 mm, is an individual thank you necessary? What happended to TIA (Thanks in Advance) on signoffs to preclude this problem? I don't remember seeing it used on this list that much.

TIA!!!,
