Subject: [CR]Legacy & Contributions of the Master Builders ?

Ahoy !

The disclaimer - Not intending to incite controversy nor discredit the workmanship of any builder. This is a straight-up inquiry to gain insight.

Does anyone know who among the Masters and Patriarchs of our time line made contributions that in some way influenced and shaped the craft and industry? I mean something that was passed to others and actually advanced the bike craft and industry. This may have been touched in the discussion of bi-laminate frames a long while ago. The quick release is an example of a flash of innovation. For things that may have been "think tank" produced - I don't know. Wouldn't you like to know the name of the person who foresaw the applicability of 5-3-1 to the bicycle frame ?

Thanks.
