Somewhere in the middle of the 80s FIR had a complete group of components; can you believe it? I've never seen anything else from FIR but rims. Now wouldn't that be a nice challenge, to fit a bike completely with FIR parts. Italian members of this list (if there are any), please speak up!

What would be the next best vintage italian components to Campy NR? Ofmega? Modolo?

I think it would be interesting to build a '70s style, 2nd tier all italian race bike, but have no clue what that would be. Something a regular Joe (or is that Guiseppe?) in Italy would race on the weekends, sort of a modern day equivalent to a Cannondale with Shimano Ultegra.
