How far back do the Miche components go? I was in Italy in the early 1980s and rode with a number of weekend racers with bikes of the type you're describing.

Typically, these had Campy NR derailleurs with the other components being whatever was reliable but inexpensive. For cranksets and hubs, that meant Miche. For brakes, that meant Modolo. For the other parts... I simply don't remember. Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
