Actually, in the Mid-80's, either barely On Topic or barely Off Topic, the Peugeot PX (they had dropped the "-10") had a nearly full Mavic gruppo (pedals were Maillard I think). This appears in the 1986 catalog that came with my 1986 Peugeot PZ when I bought it about 1996. That year the PX had Columbus SLX tubing. It may be that the PX(-10) was also Mavic a couple of years earlier, when it would still have been On Topic. Not sure when the change from 531 to SLX took place.

I remember Sean Kelly riding this stuff on Vitus aluminum frames, but what other bikes were the Mavic (851) parts known to be on. I only every saw this stuff in pro racing and aftermarket contexts, never on a consumer bike, so I wonder what on-topic steel bikes invite the Mavic with 851? --Mitch Harris Little Rock Canyon, Utah
