To remove stubborn brake pads I use a 'C' Clamp (a 'C' record camp even better). I drill a hole a hole in a 1 x 4 scrap piece of wood and clamp the pad only and the wood only with the bolt in the hole and slowly tighten the 'C' clamp and slide the pad out.
