Campy did, indeed, have 144 BCD pista cranks. I currently have two pair, both late model, non-fluted arms. These have date codes of 11-in-square and 31-in-square. I have some loose 144 BCD 1/8" rings too. I also have a 151 BCD set with no date code. I'm taking a 151 pista set in trade for a 144 strada set next week, and will look for a date code on those. However, I do seem to recall the fluted pista cranks in 144 as well, along with the BMX crank, also 144 and essentially the same as fluted pista. I have always been curious as to the time-line, and if there was an overlap between the two BCD patterns.

At what point, if ever, was the record track crank changed to a 144 bcd, or was it ever? Did it stay at 151 to the end?
Because I have what appears to be a 144 Campagnolo track chainring, and I'm wondering if I'll ever find a matching 144 track crank to put it on. Anybody know when the Record track crank was changed to 144, or if it ever was?
