Subject: [CR]Peter Paine's Legnano

Whether it's a fully original Legnano or not, there are others on the List more experienced with this marque than me to advise, but I have to say that it does look very much original, although it lacks the well-known Legnano seat pillar clamp tucked in forward of the lug and in the angle of the seat and top tubes.

The colour is identical to a brand new unused Legnano frame I have which, too, has no D/T Decals, has the same lug-lining and the same lugs (except for the seat lug) and fork crown. Mine dates from the early 50s..but has the large imposing metal headbadge.

Does anyone know when Legnano introduced the headbadge and the seat lug cluster?

It's an elegant bike, Peter..and my size too....
