Subject: [CR]1962ish Raleigh Record T.o.B. frameset

See I knew it.. rummaging in my early '60s Raleigh catalogues after outing that '62 Gran Sports, has reignited my desire to get one of these:

1962ish Raleigh Record T.o.B. (Tour of Britain) frameset.

This was the only Reynolds 531 fork and frame left in the Raleigh line at the time. Butted tubes, wrapover seatstays, rapid taper chainstays, chromed ends and head lugs, Benelux or Campy ends, rear arch for centre pull brakes, pump peg on the seat post, twin gear brazings and no lamp bracket boss on the fork unless requested. Had the "anniversary" head badge, chromed band Imichrome stickers on the seat post. Blue, Racing Green, Red or Black. Frame sizes: 20", 21, 22, 22 1/2, 23, 24, 25 with varying frame angles according to size. The 23" had 72 parallel.

So from the specs, a quality job throughout. I am not sure if this was even made in Nottingham or Worksop.

Has anyone seen one of these? Or have a guaranteed my collection staying the same by coveting what I cannot get??

This would be an ideal frameset methinks for my early 'sixties "All British" lightweight project. Cyclo Benelux P2 derailleur, GB Courer 66 brakes, bars, stem and toeclips, Brampton pedals, Williams AB 77 cotterless chainset, Airlite large flange hubs and Britannia Sprint Veloce 'guards and pump... you know, the kinda bike the British Bicycle Manufacturers Assoc. would present to Prince William on his 21st birthday if this were say 1964!

So if anyone out there has a 24" one, preferably in British Racing Green...
