I'm offering for sale to the list this very nice example of mid-70s Dutch racing history: a 58 c-t Gazelle Champion Mondial A-frame. This was one of the most popular frames for amateur racers in those days. For those list members not familiar with the Gazelle name in bike racing, check out these pro teams of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s: Willem II - Gazelle (with Harm Ottenbros, world champion in 67, Peter Post, Rene Pijnen and Rik van Looy), Frisol - Gazelle (in 1977 Jan Raas won Milan - San Remo on a Champion Mondial, which really started off his career and brought him back to TI-Raleigh), Cote d'Or - DAF trucks - Gazelle (with Henny Kuiper and Roger de Vlaeminck) and TVM.
As said the frame is 58 c-t, has a 55,5 c-c toptube and is made from 531 db tubing, with Bocama Super Professional lugs and Campy short dropouts (the portacatena type). The geometry is very much of the racing kind, with a 99 cm wheelbase and close clearances. The colour is silver metallic with blue metallic headtube and band on seattube. Luglining in blue metallic too. Rear dropouts and righthand chainstay are chromed. A steel Zeus headset in good condition is included. Condition of the paint is not showroom like, but very, very good, apart from some scratches from leaning the bike against something. This frame is maybe not a work of art, but I would consider it an excellent bike for riding (even racing) as much as you can.
