1952 - Jacques Dupont

Winner of the 1951 Paris-Tours, Jacques Dupont rode his debut Tour de France the following year. The "Paris" regional team was built around him, with veterans like Jacques Marinelli, Louis Caput, and Gino Sciardis assigned the delicate task of guiding the 24-year-old Dupont through the difficulties of The Tour. Unfortunately it did not go well for the young man in blue and red - Dupont abandoned the Tour on the 6th stage.

This image is probably from Paris-Tours, 1951. Note the beautiful Prior hubset, helmet cover (Wow! did you ever see one before the 1980s?), cotterless crank, and Simplex quick release skewers. Bike is a Peugeot (note the seattube decal "shield").
