Subject: [CR]Merckx Decals

Hi All,

I recently purchased a Merckx Corsa frame off this list (thanks Hilary) and hope to have repainted soon. While talking about my plans for this frame with the owner of my LBS, he mentioned that Merckx will supply replacement decals for older frames at no cost. Being the cheapskate that I am I quickly sent an e-mail to the North American distributor GITA. Their response was that they do not have them. This prompted me to e-mail the Merckx factory directly (info@eddymerckx.be) with some pictures and serial number. Within a couple of days I got a reply saying the decals would be included in their next shipment to GITA. They arrived yesterday (after approximately one month) and match those on the bike perfectly but did not include the Columbus decal (which I recently acquired off eBay).

While waiting for them to arrive, I was searching for possible alternative sources and noticed several sets of Merckx decals being sold on eBay:

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but I would hate to see list members paying for something they can get for free.
