Subject: [CR]Help with Masi Gran Corsa

At the risk of being ignored for talking about a model that's not a "real" Masi, I am hoping someone can provide a rough dating estimate for a Gran Corsa I just bought. I believe it's on timeline (barely). On the bb shell is stamped "47" in large type, then in smaller type "M49." The frame measures 49 c-to-t. On the other side of the bb shell is stamped 2399.

Before you ask, I have read all posts in the archives about Gran Corsas, and Masi serial numbers. Apparently all Gran Corsas were made by an Italian builder and shipped to the US. My frame has a red/white/green sticker on one side of the down tube after the "Gran Corsa" transfer, but on the other (non-drive) side, there's an American flag after the Italian colors. Any chance it was made in the US? The serial number would fall in the very early 80s, according to the Masi serial number chart on the Masi USA page of Classicrendezvous. The fork has a nice sloping crown, and the seat tube top lug has "integrated" stays - they seem built into the lug.

Anyone have any idea as to the age? I know some of you have a Gran Corsa tucked away in your collections...

thanks in advance for any assistance.
