i found a local photo supply store that had the white seamless paper in stock. a roll of 107 inches by 13 yards was $52 plus tax. i pulled out approximately 4.5 yards, cut it and hung it against the same organizer shelves that i hung my sheets from, and took some photos of the oval cx for comparison. here's the link for the new (and improved) photos:
i only took a few photos for comparison, but it seems to me that the seamless paper clearly looks beter than the droopy, wrinkled sheets i used before. cons? tears, wrinkles and non-washability (i'll see if i can use an eraser to get rid of the marks left by the tires).
overall, i'd say the seamless paper is worth it, at least for me. i wish i'd started out with it instead of cotton sheets - the 3 sheets i've been using, plus the cost of sewing them together, cost me twice what this roll of seamless paper cost, and will never produce the same results.
i like photography and i like vintage bikes, and i want the photos of my bikes to look as good as possible, so for me this relatively small expense was fully justifiable (that's my story and i'm sticking with it).
i am enjoying this combination of photography and bicycle collecting (two hobbies at once, what's not to like?), and i hope that you guys enjoy the photos as well.

ps. besides masi, i will also consider trading the oval cx for a 70's de rosa, cinelli or pogliaghi :-] confente too, what the hell.
