Subject: [CR]TA Pedals

OK, at Dale's exhortation I will post my query to the whole list. (I didn't at first because I thought such issues might have been hashed and re-hashed to death). Anyhow, I have a really nice set of TA road pedals that I have put quite a bit of miles on with my 1980 Peugeot PXN10E. The bearings need to be adjusted as some "play" has developed in the pedals. The end caps have these neat tiny grease fittings. The end caps are round and knurled with three grooves milled in them spaced equally apart (probably about 120 degrees apart). It looks like you need a special spanner that will go into these grooves in order to wrench off the end caps in order to adjust bearing clearance. I have gently tried channel locks to twist off the end caps but backed off, as I don't want to mar the caps. Is there a special TA tool available for removing the end caps? I do not just want to pump grease, I need to adjust. (Couldn't pump grease anyway as I have no clue what would be used to introduce grease into those tiny fittings. Thank you for any help. (I have use clipless pedals but always come back to my TA's). I am a classics rider because I can't afford a new bike. I commute to work on a 1972 Peugeout AO-8 that I have had for ages, and the race bike is the 1980 PXN10e. I am a respiratory therapist at St. Joe's Hospital here in Tucson, AZ. Almost hit 80 degrees today. Hee hee.
