i am pretty
sure that you cannot solder bicycle tubes together
due to the need for higher heat. they may have, in fact,
used a 2-step process, but the teperature range would
spural downwards in the follow up work. maybe they
brass brazed it and then filled in the gaps with
some silver-content rod.

Richard, I'm sure it is. I'm no techie. All I know is that after the tubes were soldered together, an additional something (metal) was used to fill in and create smooth rounded joints,looking much like todays fillet brazed (??) Ti frames.
