Raleigh inherited the Capellas when they acquired Carlton, whose creation they were. My brother and I both recently sold Super Courses with Capellas, both from 1973. It's not surprising they would have appeared on bikes from '72 through '74 or so. My guess is that Raleigh was meeting bike boom demand by using whatever materials they had available, including the Carlton leftovers. I think I've even seen them on one red and black Team Pro that may have been built at Ilkeston rather than Worksop.
