Wow, an ongoing discussion about Cinelli's, albeit the one currently on ebay in England. The Masi-ofi must be out riding since the Left Coast is enjoying specatular fall weather.

I just read the listing and the seller explains that mysterious color change on the seat tube as a bit of plastic protector stuff, the same as on the chainstay.

Missing decals aside, the Cinelli on ebay is a bit unique in the those cage bosses are brazed on and the shiftlever bosses are not. My '73 SC came with neither, my '75 SC came with both so I suppose the order came with those specific instructions. I don't remember specifying such on my orders, I was so excited to get the bike at all, I didn't make out a nitpicky order sheet, just basically: " build me a 70 cm machine" and Cino did so, or at least the boys out back in the shop....

Still, I rue the piles of discarded fenders which are now as rare as a mint Masi water bottle. I never heard of Cino tossing in schwag like bottles, much less jerseys, tho I did get an Impero pump to match, sort of...but few kept the fenders. Maybe if we chip in, the seller will route the bike through the US for us to look at it on its soon-too-be long journey to Japan....
