Hats off to Dale for this glorious combination. My 2 bikes in most heavy rotation these days are my Weigle and a Cinelli track bike. While I still love my race bikes, the Weigle Randonneur is the perfect all purpose go-fast bike. When I want a "pure" cycling experience a track bike is hard to beat.

I wasn't planning to bring much to the Cirque next year, but now I know exactly what to bring. This will be fun!

> Dear Cirque du Cyclisme past or potential new attendees:

\r?\n>

\r?\n> As I haven't gotten any entries yet (except for the stalwart organizing

\r?\n> committee), I guess we are safe in announcing changes in the scheduling. See the

\r?\n> details & entry form here:

\r?\n>

\r?\n> http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Cirque.htm

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Opening day, Friday June 9th, sadly will no longer have a lawn party at my

\r?\n> house BUT will have an official, stand-on-it's-own charity auction that will

\r?\n> include food! In a new venue, there will be a party of sorts, preview &

\r?\n> inspection of the auction goods and all sort of hilarity prior to the auction

\r?\n> itself.

\r?\n> An admission will be charged to cover eats. Rumors already abound of fantastic

\r?\n> bicycles and components that will be offered up to the highest bidder that

\r?\n> night!!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> The Saturday and Sunday events will be very similar to last year, and seminar

\r?\n> speakers and guests will be announced as spring approaches. Let me just say

\r?\n> that there are some very very interesting folks being discussed!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Regarding the THEME...

\r?\n> As many of you know, we have had a loosely applied theme each year, bikes

\r?\n> that would be subject to a bit more attention among the many wonderful bikes

\r?\n> that

\r?\n> are shown.. This is not an exclusive requirement, you can still bring that

\r?\n> Andalusian time trial bike, but just an encouragement to bring the best that you

\r?\n> have in that Theme category if you have one!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> We have had Themes, thus far, representing regions or countries; Italy,

\r?\n> Britain, France, North America, but because of the relatively small numbers of

\r?\n> bicycles (all of merit, mind you) that are out there in the remaining countries,

\r?\n> the committee has abandoned that old approach and bravely sets off in a new

\r?\n> direction(?).

\r?\n>

\r?\n> So.........

\r?\n> the 2006 Cirque du Cyclisme Theme will be..

\r?\n> (If I may have a drum roll please... )

\r?\n>

\r?\n> "The Fascinating Opposites: Touring (Randonneur) and Track bikes!"

\r?\n>

\r?\n> As always, in addition to all handmades, we will be especially pleased to see

\r?\n> those traditionally made machines which are shown by their actual builders.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> And for the first time, there will be a $500.00 cash award to the Best in

\r?\n> Show!

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Whew! This will be an exciting year for the Cirque du Cyclisme! Can't wait to

\r?\n> see you all there!
