Got a Univega Super Special frameset today. Recall earlier discussion on h igh-end Univegas, did they have Camp. equipment, etc.
This frame has Campagnolo dropouts and fork ends, Champion tubing and a Dur a Ace EX sticker on it. Colour is pinkish red with silver lettering, long point lugs with diamond cutouts, but also heart cut-outs in fork tangs.
Neat little frame, thin lugs, not sure if production or better. Anyone kno w more about the Super Special? Love the name.
Included were wheels that may have first generation Dura Ace cassette hubs, 6 speed with little cog as the screwed-on retaining piece. I'd never seen these before.

Colnago Nuovo Mexico '87, full Cinquantenario Gruppo, 54.5x54.5, 12 cm stem. Hardly used at all. One owner: Giampiero Giannetti, Pisa. Asking 1500 euro.

Bianchi, full Cinquantenario Gruppo. Again hardly ever used (evidently people regard them as relics!). If you do not want to do British, most anything with 1, 2, or 3 wheels made out of steel will be acceptable....
I have scouted out a circa 30 mile route from here (Kensington, MD) out
to the west that (while not flat) is certainly quite doable on a fixed. (I rode it last week on my 47/18 fixed gear without difficulty.) Non-riders, spouses, etc welcome, of course. (My spousal unit will not be riding)
We will assemble circa 10 am with an aim to begin riding at about 10:30. Food, beverages served afterwards.
Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can be sure to have sufficient food, etc available. At a minimun, we will serve Pizza, homemade Chili, Brats, and Beer and soda. Food and/or beverage donations most welcome.

In 1977 I purchased in France a Raleigh Team Record frame. Reynolds 531 with half chromed forks. Painted Raleigh red, black, yellow team colors. Only braze on was a cable stop for the derailleur. Raleigh on the seat tube. Record on the down tube and Team Record on the top tube. No TI stickers. Still have the frame. I never sell anything.
I have never seen another like it. Anyone know anything about Raleigh Team bikes? Is this the long lost TdF winner? : )

I haven't followed this thread from the start so I don't know who made the statement about enjoying the new home however if that person would have sai d I hope they/it enjoys its new home in Switzerland or England the ov erly politically correct probably would not have taken offense. I need to replace the gooey and don't fit very well Dia-Compe hoods that are on some Nuovo-Record brake levers that I have. What is the best currently available option for a rider? I really don't want to pay anything near what NOS Campy hoods seem to sell for. Something brownish/gummish would be best I think, black probably okay. FWIW the bike is from 1975.

My son had a crack up while on a solo ride around the neighborhood. He's okay, but the fork on his Faggin is bent. It's a chrome fork with "Faggin" in script on both sides of the crown. Any chance that a
list member has a fork like this gathering dust? The steering tube length is about 140mm. Otherwise, does anyone have, or know a source
for, generic chrome-moly forks with crowns? Seems like only unicrown
chrome forks are generally available. I have these items for sale or trade:
Campy handlebar plugs. Chromed plastic/yellow labels w/Campy world logo. Unused, but theyve been banging around the tool box for a while, so Id rate chrome as excellent and labels good to very good.

NOS/NIB Campy 980 rear derailleur. No pulleys. $20.
NOS Regina America 13-21 7-speed. In the canit even smells new. $55.
Regina Oro 12-17 6-speed. Some corrosion on the back of the body, but
runs smooth and cogs dont indicate much use. Splined body. $15.
Regina Oro 13-19 6-speed. Notched body, both notches boogered a bit.
Runs smooth, some wear on cog finish, lots of life left. $7.
Regina Oro 13-21 6-speed. Notched body, with one rounded-off notch.

Regina CX 13-18 6-speed. Does not turn smoothly-possible internal problems that occurred with some CX freewheels? 15t cog has a crack in

While I have nothing close to a $1250+ rim-set I do have a few nice pairs
from the 1970's. Some of the decals are starting to curl or peel off, even
on NOS sets. Does anyone have any tricks to protect rim decals? Bear in mind that they will be ridden and exposed to the elements. Also, should the
foil Mavic decals be handled differently than the paper sticker ones found
on Super Champion and other rims. I was thinking about clear nail polish.
