I have a set of those "Universal" engraved Mod. 61's, without the Mod. 61 engraving also. Mine are 1972 vintage. The finish on mine is excellent. I have not measured the reach, but looks like 'normal' reach (about 52mm).

Picked up 2 pair of Universals recently. The first was a pair of Model 125's (miniaturized Super 68's) for recessed allens. They're smaller than the CX and shorter reach. They appear to be similar to the Squadra except they're silver and stamped MOD. 125. I'm assuming they're 80's production. Anyone know more about these? The second pair are apparently Model 61 centerpulls except they're only stamped with a centered UNIVERSAL without the MOD. 61, not as nicely finished (but still acceptable), and longer reach. 70's bike boom?
