I read with interest the comparison between the different fitness and muscle memory of track vs road riders. What does this say about the value, or lack of it,of training in a fixed gear over the winter? I've never done it, but have decided to give it a try this winter to avoid having to ride an indoor trainer so much... (my '78 le champ now has a fixed wheel).
