Louis; This sounds like a very dark comedy, and a comedy of errors, but not one to laugh at. I went through the same thing years ago with UPS, not losing a shipment, but damage of a cycle frame. After sending a Colnago Arabesque to Clive Rodell in Austrailia. Clive sent me jpgs of the boxed I shipped the Arabesque in, and it appeared as if someone had driven fork lift blades through the box.

UPS denied the claim stating the box wasn't packed properly etc, etc. Bottom line is I persisted as did Clive filing with UPS for close to a year, and that I recall, we finally gave up. A few months later a young lady working for UPS found our claim on a miscellanious desk somewhere and called me. She agreed with me that the claim should have been paid and reopened the file. A month or so later UPS finally settled, and sent out a check.

As I know from reading prior letters from the thread of thought on this, that others have encountered similar problems, but I've been using Fedex for atleast seven or eight years now since the hassle with UPS, and so far they've been a 100% with me, and "knock on wood" hope that continues.

Best regards, Peter
