Hi there,

After having joined Classic Rendezvous some weeks ago, I have been reading this forum with interest. Now I am ready to ask my first questions which I hope that someone out there can assist with.

I have 2 Paris cycles - a Galibier which is well on it's way to being restored and a Tour de France which is stripped down and I am deciding what level of equipment to put on it and what paint finish/colour it will be.

I have done a search and read through the past articles on the Galibier, most of which was to do with the 'unusual' construction. I hope that someone out there can help me fill in the gaps in my knowledge.

The Tour de France came with a mixture of components - 49D Chainset, Huret rear mech., Campag Record (has a small button on the rear mech. lever, I believe for to allow for easier wheel changing) Record ? front mech., Fiamme 27" sprint rims and mixed hubs (Harden rear & Airlite front).

I have yet to identify the brake levers - they are all alloy, and marked "LES ROI DES GRIMPEURS" has anyone know anything about these ? Date etc....

Also dose anyone have any Paris literature. I have a poor photocopy of a brochure on A3 sheets. Any better copies etc. would be appreciated. Quite prepared to pay for copying etc. provided I know how much in advance.

The CR site has been really helpful in some respects - campag area and pics of Galibier.

Look forward to reading you responses.
