The original"clear coat" for water slide transfers was Copal oil varnish.The new"next best" is Dammar varnish.Winsor & newton is a good brand and made in England is a plus for brit frames.Now just what sticks to powder coating(yes P/C is on topic and being used in the bicycle industry in late 50s)I have no idea.But as more and more frames are being re-painted using this enviromental friendly method it would benefit all to learn what works.IMO. sam lingo,pleasanton tx
