A brief article in "Cycling" of June 15 1960 (headed "New Carlton Lugs" refers to the recent acquisition of the Carlton Cycle Company by Raleigh, and to "comment on whether the Carlton Company would remain independent and retain its identity as a manufacturer of hand-built bicycles". The article goes on to confirm that "Carlton cycles would continue under the direct supervision of K. O'Donovan, and that all Carlton bicycles would continue to be made in the traditional manner at Worksop". After giving very brief details of the range of cycles (by type, not model), the article ends, "And now the company has introduced new intricately cut Carlton Capella lugs".
The article includes a drawing of the head and seat lugs.
