At the young age of 14 I purchased my first of a number of Schwinn Paramount's, the first was chrome and far to big for me as most bike I owned during that time. My parents were bike shop owners in the SF Bay Area, but I still had to earn the bike. The next two Paramounts were yellow and it with the second of those that I got my first pair of Campy brakes, the "No Name" version that I still own today. In the late sixties it was just beginning to be cool to ride a bike and boy did I ride. Even before I turned 16, I would go and visit Peter Rich at Velo Sport in Berkeley, a friendship that continues to today. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, I needed that.
