I traded an (OT) Schwinn balloon tire bike at the Tucson Swap meet for a Dick Power track bike....It was years later after I joined the CR list that I found out the history of the bike...I have corresponded for several years with John Powers, a grandson of the builder. I sold the bike to Ken Wallace, and it is now sitting in the Bisbee Bike Brothel along with so many other fine bicycles. You all must make the trip, buy a T-shirt, and chat with Ken, surrounded by bicycle history......

The BEST deal ever was the Classified Ad I answered for an "Older Schwinn Paramount, $350." When I got to the house, the owner wheeled out an immaculate P-10, candy apple red, in my size. I paid him, and he brought out some 'extra parts that go with the bike'...an extra campy wheel set, and almost unbelivably, a 1978 Campy SR crankset with Ti. BB, all in original box, never even mounted, and a SR R Der. with the little cardboard tab still on the hanger bolt. Trying not freak out too badly, I handed over the cash, and he helped me load the stuff in my truck. I later traded the Campy stuff for my beautiful late '70's Pog. A Paramount and a Pog for $350...

Pat Moffat Tempe, AZ The Tucson Swap meet is Nov. 12th...always a surprise or two...last year Ken snagged a Cinelli for a song...see you there.
