I also can't help but wonder why this seller has Australia in block letters specified as a country he will not ship to along with a few others. It seems he'd ship to Nigeria though.........

The truth of the matter is that to ship to Australia is a royal pain in the behind. Most courrier services will not accept regular bike boxes and when they do it costs you through the nose. You tell a bidder what the shipping fee is going to be and most inexperienced buyers will back out of the deal due to sticker shock. You have therefore lost the sale, time and ebay fees. You can ship by the post, but then need to keep the box inside a 108" postal measurement size. This means removing fork and very precise packing and a custom-fitted box. Even then it is very expensive (the last time shipping a bike cost me just under $350!) I have done it a few times already and apart from shipping to a number of collectors who I have come to know well, I seriously doubt that I would do it again. It isn't worth the hassle. Shipping to Africa is comparatively simple. I once shipped a full bike to Zimbabwe for 'only' $130.
