The only thing I'd caution you about is that the slot of a rear facing track dropout should be positioned so that it is parallel to the tangent of the brake pad. I believe tangent is the right descriptive. That is to say, if the slot is positioned horizontally, as if it were a true track dropout, the brake pad will be not be placed ideally if the rear wheel is moved backward or forward.
Also, a rear facing dropout can act as a chain hanger when you are flip flopping a wheel.
