Ray, you beat me to it! It was Wordperfect in 1993, and I must be looking a t the same pic right now, sprint at the finish of the Tour of Flanders. In th e same spring campaign Edwig van Hooydonck took 6th place in Paris-Roubaix an d Eric Vanderaerden took 2nd in Gent-Wevelgem, while teammate Frederic Moncassin took 4th. I don't think there was a classic win for Superbe equipped bikes, but they were close. It's the legs, man! In my album in wooljersey: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/album155/Van_de_Velde_Gavia_88 we can see van der Velde putting on jacket, gloves and hat. It's a great pic to give closer inspection. Besides the seatpost, he does have the Suntour gear levers, and the cranks look like Superbe too. He's riding for the Jolly team; somebody has given him a Gewiss-Bianchi cloth hat. That's a big help in winter! This pic was probably taken when he got out of the van again, where he'd been sheltering for 20 minutes or so. Freek Faro Rotterdam Netherlands
