The concept of using nuts to prevent spoke movement and turn a tension member into a compression member is lots of work but interesting, probably not worth the hassle for the possible benefits.

Pino did boast that his earlier wheels could be ridden down stairs though. I was really taken with the straight spokes that threaded into the hub as I saw at the track Nationals in 1974. The ti quill stem with the super short expander bolt looked promising as well. Lots of inventive ideas.

Almost forgot about the flipping of the drive line to the left side, essentially increasing the pedal clearance on steep velodrome banking, without raising the BB. That was one of those"why didn't I think of that" moments.

Enough fun, now back to work.
