referencing eugene sloan's "complete book of bicycling," he mentions thirteen or so steps on repairing tubular tires. i have a scrap tubular, and i'm going to see if i can do it. anyway, he mentions (in the first edition) that traditional inner-tube patches are too fat/big for sew-ups and scrape/tear the casing.
is this still true? or have patches slimmed down enough so that they could now be used in sew-ups with no problem?
i know that there's the fellow in florida who repairs tubs, but this is a cheapo that i just want to try and learn the craft on.
