I compare the frame's dimensions with the list of serial numbers provided to me by Rob Roberson. According to Rob's build sheets, I show that the frame was a 63cm with Columbus SP tubing. That data matches the bike on ebay. The U in the serial # is still a mystery. Rob had two apprentices working for him. Gregorio and Humberto. Perhaps it was one of Humberto's frames or as you suggested, u=unpainted.
